There are many different types of concrete available from coloured to expose aggregate to plain grey. This provides a range of design options to suit whatever you need. As well as the types of concrete there are also a range of finishes and textures that can be used depending on what area your concreting and what its used for. These finishes can also be used to enhance the look of the concrete.

Smooth trowel finish- this is the type of concrete finish usually used on house slabs, warehouses and factories. Often this type of finish will be used in areas that will be covered later by tiles or carpet, or areas that are to be polished for a decorative finish. Its not generally used in outdoor areas exposed to the weather as it is very slippery when wet unless sealed with a non slip sealer.

Broom finish- this is the type of concrete finish most often used in outdoor areas like footpaths and patios. A fine bristle broom is run over the surface of the concrete just before it is fully dry creating a lined texture. This highlights the surface and provides grip. It is also safe to use in wet areas. It is possible to vary the depth of the texture from a deep aggressive finish to nearly smooth depending on what you need.

Stipple trowel finish-this type of concrete finish is also used for outdoor areas that are affected by the weather. A texture worked into the surface with a special hand trowel. As opposed to the uniform lines of the broom finish, stipple trowels create a swirl type effect which looks decorative while providing grip. Again the depth and shape of the swirl finish can be altered by our tradesmen to whatever finish you need.

As well as these concrete finishes it is possible to create highlights. For instance a smooth border around a stipple trowel textured center or varying the types of finishes within the concrete area. These techniques give you more options to create the perfect finish for you.
